About this listing

Antique Royal Doulton Art Nouveau pottery stoneware whisky jug with sterling silver mounts by J S & Co - which most commonly represents Birmingham silversmiths such as J. Sherwood & Sons (active through the late Victorian and Edwardian eras) or James Swann & Son. This very stylish Art Nouveau stoneware whiskey jug is high-glazed in a deep cobalt blue and has tube-lined organic sinuous decoration. The top is fitted with a sterling silver stopper (with the original cork) and a silver cuff. The base has the impressed marks for Royal Doulton with a lion and Crown. There are also two impressed decorator's marks, one is GS - according to Google, possibly George Smith or Elizabeth Gadson. The other is GW - possibly George White. Condition is excellent, this very lovely whisky jug is ready to receive your favorite liquor.
